Valley View Memory Care

When your loved one needs a more secure environment, including extra security and care due to Alzheimer’s disease or memory loss, you’ll find no better memory care facility in Kansas City than Valley View Memory Care at John Knox Village. As part of our retirement community, Valley View Memory Care is a unique community designed to meet their needs. Our highly trained and caring staff provides a proven program of services specifically for those with memory-related impairments. Each staff member is trained in the universal worker model to provide care and services to each resident.

  • Private and semi-private rooms furnished with bed, wardrobe, nightstand and chair
  • 24-hour nursing care, supervision and support staff
  • Secured entrances and monitoring systems in resident rooms
  • Comfortable, clean and home-like living areas
  • Snacks and three freshly prepared nutritious meals served in a family-style setting
  • Professional staff who received specialized Alzheimer's disease training
  • Laundry services
  • Hair salon on-site
  • Individualized activity program
  • Monthly Alzheimer's Support Group for families

To be admitted to Valley View Memory Care, residents need to meet the following criteria.

  • Not have any physical or mental condition or behavior beyond the scope of Valley View Memory Care's ability to treat or manage
  • Not be of harm to oneself or others
  • Not require physical or chemical restraint
  • Require no more than one person to physically assist the resident with any activity of daily living
  • Not be bed-bound or similarly immobilized
  • Be continent of bladder and bowels or must be cooperative with others to control incontinency
  • Be able to feed themselves unassisted or must be capable of feeding themselves with the use of assistive devices
  • Be willing and able to transfer themselves unassisted, in and out of bed and on and off the commode
  • Be under the care of a physician licensed in Missouri
